Sarah + Alex { Peterson-Dumesnil House }

Once in a while

someone amazing comes along….

Alex, is Sarah’s ‘someone amazing’. A gentleman with a good heart, mind, body (ahem) and soul. It was like magic when their eyes met. From afar, Sarah was irresistible… with long dark hair and curves but more evident was her confidence and poise. Alex was smitten. She was a picture of a lady. Someone he wanted more than ever. Fast forward a few years, it was natural that Alex made it official. With a ring and a wish, overlooking the ocean aboard the Norwegian Gateway Cruise ship Sarah said yes : )

Their intimate celebration was held at the beautiful Peterson-Dumesnil House in Louisville, Kentucky. Sarah was attracted to its lush gardens and historical charm, a gem hidden amongst older homes in the area. Even in mid November, it was full of life and beauty. Adding to the 55 deg F day, the sun shone brightly for the lovely couple… who was obviously…

in SO MUCH love.

Sparkle and heels?

Definitely!

 No wedding is complete without a couple of gorgeous maidens in long, sparkly dresses (and killer backs). Courtesy of Rent the Runway.

A veil like no other.

Here, a sweet moment with her mother before the ceremony.

Alex and Sarah chose to see each other at the ceremony. Yes, the moment he sees her…

The new Mr & Mrs. Alex’s smile says it all. THE hottest dress for 2015!!

 After a delicious dinner and heartfelt toasts, the festivities continued as Sarah and Alex danced as MR & MRS Sukhorukov.  A father-daughter performance like no other. It was indeed a nice surprise : )

Kentucky Bride Magazine { Winter/ Spring 2016 }

Romance in the Bluegrass

Chivalry is not dead! At least not in Kentucky. Our gentlemen still open doors for the ladies; pull chairs out for their dates; and dress to impress for their brides. Weddings are only more of a reason to share your love story in the most romantic way. This is your one day that will last a lifetime through photographs, on film and in your memories. Romance, sophistication, elegance and true love are the perfect recipe for this inspirational shoot.

Real Kentucky Engaged Couple: Kayla Parker & Darrius McQueen (Now married!!)

I’ve enjoyed working with Kentucky Bride Magazine for many years (you can see previous editorials with them HERE and HERE) and when the editor, Jaimeson emailed to ask if I would photograph a “Romantic Wedding in the BLUE GRASS” editorial I literally jumped for joy! Lace, romantic and natural elements are a few of my favorite things and combined with KBM’s vision of shooting at the beautiful Ashley Inn Bed & Breakfast estate in Lancaster, Kentucky it was truly a dream editorial for me. Stuart at HOUSE flawlessly brought elegance to this charming estate with his timeless and refined vision. Working alongside all of the vendors that helped bring this editorial to life was inspiring and I’m very grateful for all of their talents and efforts. This final product is my favorite editorial for Kentucky Bride Magazine to date and I’m thrilled to have it featured on the COVER and pages of their new issue, Winter/ Spring 2016, on stands now.

Blessed beyond measure 🙂

Rachel & Tyler

The first time I saw you,

my heart whispered,

“that’s the one.”

~  Unknown

Once in a very blue moon, we hear about someone special on Facebook. Tyler recounted the time he saw Rachel’s photo (shared by a mutual friend, John) and immediately knew he wanted to get to know her. He wasted no time and sent her a message to meet up. They hit it off on their very first date with dinner and drinks and a friendly arm wrestling match. She was completely herself, laid back and funny. It might have been her personality or long black hair falling over her shoulders and bright blue eyes, but he knew–right then–he had found…

THE ONE.

After over a year of planning their dream getaway wedding, Rachel, Tyler and their closest family and friends made a long trip down to Hilton Head Island for their seaside celebration. A beautiful venue, slight breeze and perfect temperature made everything come together perfectly.

 A year ago, Tyler asked Rachel to spend the rest of her life with him.

For she had eyes

and

chose me.
