Shristi & Deves { Reception at the Carrick House }

When Shristi came across the Carrick House, she knew she had found her dream location! Beautiful, modern and elegant, it was the perfect place to host their RECEPTION, aka party! The property is a mix of old and new and gave us PLENTY of picture taking opportunities 🙂

What else can I say? Simply gorgeous…ok, I’ve said it another time : )

Deves trying to decide between 2 bow ties. Red and black or white and black plaid? Both?

Looking mighty fine. Mr & Mrs ‘James Bond’?

The gold accents around the house perfectly complimented Shristi’s reception gown.

Shristi and Deves’ beautiful family 🙂

Never a dull moment during the dancing program…. what a lively group! Laughter, smiles, applause after applause!!

Special thanks to their families for putting on such an AWESOME show!!

Deves’ very own not-so-private dance by Shristi. Ahh! No words can describe it ; )

What a NIGHT! I can’t begin to express how fortunate we are to get to know Shristi and Deves, as well as their families and friends. They have welcomed us with open arms and hearts into their homes and lives. It has been an honor and privilege. We wish you both years of happiness, prosperity and love and remember…

to love one another.

Blessed, indeed.

Shristi + Deves { Ceremony }

Shristi and Deves have been waiting for this beautiful day for months! After all the travel, meticulous and careful planning, details, details and more details…. they were married amongst closest family and friends. Their traditional Nepali affair was colorful and vibrant, but more importantly true to their culture and home. Shristi traveled far for many of her bridal and wedding finds. From beautiful saris to handmade invitations, Nepal was the ONLY place she considered for her unique wants and needs. The color RED (and gold) was dominant in most of her details and many guests also made red their color- for wedding prosperity, of course.

Love is….

 The early, weekend long celebration started with primping and prepping for Shristi and Deves…

Shristi in her newari style blouse, patiently waiting to put on her wedding sari… carefully pleated and wrapped by Aunty Kalpana Shrestha, her best friend Ashma’s mom.

Of course, a Nepali bride is not complete without henna on the Bride’s hands and feet. Henna artist, Kimberly Brumfield created these intricate designs and if you really look, you might find ‘Deves’ name within the designs. Another tradition.

Gold and jewels complete Shristi’s bridal look ~ nothing is spared, in fact more is more : )

Her bridal hair and makeup was FLAWLESS I must say. THANKS to Michelle Watts (Prive Salon) and Patrishe Stewart (Ulta)! Everything was just beautiful!

Hydrating- so important for the on-the-go bride.

Divine- divine! One of Shristi’s wedding heels by Badgley Mischka. Pale gold adorned with an elegant brooch.

Need I say more?! GORGEOUS!

Her wedding jewelry.

Deves’ “getting ready” was more lively. Dozens of his family and best friends came to celebrate with him as he adorned his traditional Nepali wedding attire- Daura surwaal.

Blessings from his Mom, Luxmi before traveling to the Bride’s home…

The groom’s family, friends and entourage arriving at the bride’s (ceremony) home… bearing gifts, ritual items and definitely big smiles. They walk and dance along the way to lively, traditional music.

Even the little ones wore their best!

LOVE all the colors and glorious fabrics!

 The Bride arrives…

The main part of the ceremony is the couple’s exchange of flower garlands.

The bride and groom is welcomed at the Groom’s home…

Shristi { Bridal }

 Yes, Shristi’s Lehenga Choli is THAT gorgeous!

Meticulously hand embroidered and beaded velvet and paired with a sheer beaded dupatta (shawl), sourced all the way from Kathmandu, Nepal.

More is more. Shristi look was not complete without the gold jewelry and colorful accessories: tikka, bangles, rings, necklaces, earrings, and delicate anklets. Her Badgley Mischka gold pumps were perfect for the overall ensemble. Simply divine I must say : )

Shristi second Lehenga Choli is more colorful and perfect for dancing the night away. The fabric is soft, light and flowy.

Devon & Andrew { An Equestrian Affair at Keeneland }

LUCKY

Do you hear me, I’m talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I’m trying
Boy, I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again…

– Jason Mraz  (feat. Colbie Caillat )

… a fond memory of the day Andrew proposed to Devon in front of their closest friends at RICE University. The group Doc A Pellas (friends of Andrew) held a ‘concert’ singing various songs and that led to singing their ‘song’ LUCKY. Little did Devon know, they were singing for her. A special message (and question) to follow with a heartfelt proposal on bended knee and a special ring. She nodded and said YES.

Love isn’t love, until you give it away.

For instant happy, just add horse…….

or pony : )

Delicate cream and pink roses with soft blush astilbe in white ‘trophy’ vases from Target! What a great find!

Of course the yummiest cake by MARTINE’s! Pistachio no less!
