Miami { Getaway }

 MIAMI BEACH

For beach-goers

For foodies

For wannabes

For fashionistas

and LOVERS

A historic site with so much to offer. The Biltmore in affluent Coral Gables is a luxury hotel built in 1926. It’s nothing short of spectacular with its impressive archways, manicured grounds, old world tile work, and the long list of amenities to make your stay absolutely worth while. I have to mention that this hotel was used as a setting for CSI Miami and Miami Vice and several other films. Oh yes, numerous weddings too : )

Jane & Kenny { Engagement }

 Yes, indeed. My couple Jane and Kenny is simply… GOR-GEOUS.

Not many moons ago, Kenny asked Jane to go on an adventure with him. A proposal quite original, after many years of courting, traveling, and long distance dates. It all started when Jane joined a college rowing club as a novice at Cambridge. After hours of rowing, drinking at the pub sounded like a great idea and to make it even better, Kenny (also in the club) began offering Jane free drinks (where he also bartended). Jane didn’t notice, initially. Kenny tried harder and instead invited her to dinner. At his place. Jane thought for a moment and refused. She thought she would be doing dishes, a chore she didn’t enjoy. He persisted and with a little nudge from her friend, Dawn she agreed to come to dinner. Free drinks and meals…. why not?! She waited twice to enjoy his cooking and she loved it. Food = love

Funny how things work out sometimes. Today, they enjoy food and love in the same city and continent. Their adventure continues…

The wind…. just perfect. Like their love.

To love and be loved. Jane’s custom heels.

Jane graciously shared her pretty FINDS below. I know you want that blue dress!

Emily & Cory { Historic White Hall }

ONCE IN A WHILE

in the middle of

AN ORDINARY LIFE

LOVE

gives us a FAIRY TALE

~ unknown

Their vows to each other were personal, heartfelt and most definitely, beautiful. Though they created a few laughs, Emily and Cory made their message to each other meaningful. To love and honor. Their families and friends from near and far made their day extra special, especially when the wedding was officiated by Cory’s father (Joey Kays) and not to mention a beautiful blessing by Emily’s grandfather (Donald Dixon).

Though simple, their wedding was filled with handmade touches of southern elegance but with a soft, romantic, country flare. Pearls and lace are a couple of Emily’s favorite elements, so her ball gown style wedding dress and belt were the first pieces of her wedding look after saying “YES” to Cory’s proposal in Indianapolis. Being a history buff, she knew she wanted a site full of history and character and the historic White Hall State in Richmond, Kentucky came to mind (even though the location is hundreds of miles away from where they currently reside~ Boston). After a year and half of planning, hand making details, flying and hours of phone calls and emailing, they made it through with much help from their sweet family and friends. Thank the skies for perfect weather, a picturesque venue and LOVE. Yes, so much love.

 As I said, SO MUCH LOVE.

 EMILY & CORY: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for the lovely weekend and much gratitude to you and your families for the warmest ‘welcome’, ‘thank yous’ and hugs. We are so lucky.

Rachel & Tyler

 Life moves pretty fast

If you don’t stop and look around

once in a while, you could miss it.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

One day, Rachel got the courage to stop. She made up her mind to ‘re-boot’ so to speak and focus on LIFE again. She opened her heart to let LOVE in again and there was Tyler. A stone’s throw away and an internet connection, they connected through mutual friends via Facebook. Tyler made the first step and sent a message to introduce himself. They clicked (no pun intended) and their friendship blossomed. Their days were filled with laughter, dinner and drinks, holding hands and even arm wrestling! No doubt, Rachel had found her man~ a gentleman who still opens her car door, kisses her hand and maybe kiss her while she’s sleeping.

Not many months later, Tyler knew he couldn’t wait any longer… he picked the perfect place (the beach) and moment. He suggested writing their names in the sand and taking a picture. She did just that while he wrote something else, about 20 feet away. As she walked towards him, he said to close her eyes (she had an idea what was happening next ; )). When she opened her eyes, she saw ‘MARRY ME?’ written in the sand. Without hesitation, she said YES! YES! YES! He then formally asked again on bended knee…

One fine day.

Rachel & Tyler: THANK YOU so much for the honor of being your photographer on your special day. I am beyond excited for you both, your celebration and your journey. MAY 2015 cannot come soon enough!

Cara & Michael { Myriad Botanical Garden }

And then

I met you.

It was that moment when I saw Cara’s bouquet, I knew she was going to be a beautiful bride. Her vision of classic elegance with simple touches spoke volumes.

Everything was perfect~ from her handmade-with-love brooch bouquet to her ‘oh-so-personal’ note to Michael. You can feel the air shift a little when they saw each other for the first time. Yes, their FIRST LOOK. A little heaven, a couple of tears and a whole lot of kisses….

Cara + Michael { Norman, Oklahoma }

There was plenty of fish in the sea…but Michael chose Cara. Sweet, beautiful and kind hearted Cara initially thought he was just another ‘fish’. But, days past and his smoldering eyes still haunted her. Maybe, he is different. She decided to reconnect with him and they finally had their first date. It was a first date to remember. Knowing Cara, she looked her best~ mascara and heels and maybe a cute dress. They got seated at an Italian restaurant and then the unthinkable happened. They were asked to leave! Uh… a tornado was heading their way!!! They hopped in Michael’s truck heading ‘somewhere’ just to get away. Before their eyes, a STOP sign was ripped out of the ground! Quickly, they drove to his Mother’s home and took shelter in their underground storm shelter. There she was… with his ENTIRE family, on their first date! When the storm past, he asked if she was OK. She nodded.

She knew he was THE one.

He knew…. on their FIRST date, he wanted to marry her. Michael confessed during his proposal.

SPECIAL THANKS to OU, Norman for their always, impeccable grounds!
