Engagement: Jami + Christopher { Home Place Park }

 It’s easy to see that they have finally found the ONE… in each other. Jami and Chris enjoy date nights playing ‘Magic’ the Gathering card game, going to the movies and sometimes just sitting in their home watching tv. Chris is easy going, hard working and family oriented and would do just about anything to make Jami happy. So, when Jami suggested a 50s themed engagement session, Chris went along with no (little) hesitation. He even agreed to wear a fadora, wing tipped shoes, and a bow tie! Well, as they say a couple that plays together, stays together ; )

The session started with this polka dotted dress Jami found on ebay.com! She added a few red accessories, matching shoes and cat eye glasses to complete the look. Jami wears little makeup normally but was all excited about a makeover with JEMMA. She went with the 50s red-lips look, which looked absolutely gorgeous on her!

They adore each other…

G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!

The shoot took place at the HOME PLACE Park in Ary and we were lucky enough to shoot inside one of the log homes. It was FILLED with antique/ vintage finds galore!

One of the many items Jami brought to the session.. her favorite was this little boy figurine. It reminded her of what men used to be like. Gentleman and well dressed. Chris is her ‘gentleman’. Always thinking of her needs above all else.

Are these husband and wife books hilarious?

They love old book, old things.

Chris wanted to incorporate several of books authored by his grandfather, Rufus into the session. The ‘boy & girl’ pictured on the cover is so fitting.

I simply can’t wait for their OCTOBER wedding at the Buckhorn Cathedral. It will be my first time photographing at this historic site : )

Wedding: Ashley + James { Tampa, Florida }

Hidden in a paper bag was another paper bag. It was blue, tiffany blue to be precise. Whatever it is, it’s undeniably special. Ashley is special. To James. She is everything to him and he knew ‘it’.. the first evening they spent together. Little surprises might as well be James’ trademark. He always have something planned. Something well thought out.. from their travels together to their engagement at Central Park. And on this 5.5.12 day, another little surprise was in a little blue bag.

‘Together Forever” engraved in the groom’s ring. Ashley’s diamond eternity band matched her ROCK perfectly.

Ashley’s Allure silk gown is classic, simple and fits like a glove. An elegant brooch gives it a touch of sparkle. But, the structured pleats in the back made it unforgettable. AND how GORGEOUS is she here?! Mariel is THE makeup God! Thank you!!

Hello : )

Ashley wore a lipstick given to her by Margie, one of her Bridesmaids. It is called ‘Tiger Eye’ by Estee Lauder. Margie wore the same color on her wedding day : ) LOVE it!

Ashley’s grandmother’s brooches. She chose the delicate one for her delicate bouquet of white tulips. Her absolute favorite!

Ashley is sentimental at heart. She keeps everything from cards, ticket stubs… here is the champagne bottle and cork from their engagement at Central Park, New York.

The surprise. James- always so thoughtful and kind : )

Ashley and her girls. They each chose their own dresses in shades of coral and shoes in shades of champagne or nude. LOVE the variety! Gone are the days of matchy-matchy dresses.

James and his groomsmen having a great time getting ready at his parent’s place. He was a cool groom- so easy going.

Jackson, Ashley’s nephew is getting ready for his close up. He looked so handsome in his tuxedo. Tailored, bow tied, and cuffed! His dad Alexander made sure he snapped a quick pic for keeps.

Ashley’s gift to James- a custom engraved razor from the Art of Shaving.

These guys are something else. Never a dull moment! But, so nice and pretty good looking ; ) I must say.

Last minute rehearsal of their surprise dance routine for their grand entrance. Matias leads the gang with his one of a kind moves!

Just about ready…

Sacred Heart Catholic church in downtown Tampa, Florida. Breathtaking is an understatement!

About to see his bride…

Ashley is smiling from ear to ear. She is truly happy : )

Smile : )

After family formals, the entire bridal party walked to the reception site located just a few blocks away. AND some fun Mr & Mrs portraits!

SPECIAL thanks to Jennifer and Natalie of Burkle Events for all the beautiful and hard work at the reception- Glazer’s Childrens Museum. They executed Ashley’s modern-shabby chic theme so beautifully, by incorporating fresh floral elements in shades of white, old milk glass vessels, peach accent table clothes, silver chiavari chairs and sleek white couches. Ashley and James wanted a PARTY-like reception with lots of room to mingle and dance.

Ashley being originally from Kentucky brought an element of home to the party- Old Kentucky Chocolates : )

You can’t go wrong with desserts at weddings. It’s always a hit and when it’s presented like this, everything LOOKS so much tastier! A Piece of Cake of Tampa, FL has made ALL of this look so sinful!

How fun are these childhood posters!

Photo Booth. Framed!

Skip the fancy limo. Ashley and James rode in style in this rickshaw. Never thought I’d see this here!

What a night! Congratulations A & J!

Wishing you both a blissful marriage and life full of (nice) surprises. I am so happy for you both!

Engagement: A vintage affair { Sneak Peek }

The old is new again…it seem like. Vintage, antique, attic treasures are a few things Jami and Chris incorporated into their 50s THEMED shoot. When Jami mentioned there will be beaded purses, a bird cage veil, old hard bound books (among other nostalgic finds)… I knew this engagement session would be one of a kind! Here’s a sneak peek..

Oh yes… more to come : ) Have a happy Tuesday!

Engagement: Megan & Wes { Leatherwood, Kentucky }

“She loves me unconditionally”… says Wes. Wes, of course is referring to Megan- the love of his life. She was the ‘beautiful blonde’ he met at friend’s home but were too bashful to strike up a conversation. Megan however noticed him a week prior at Applebee’s while dining with a girl friend. She KNEW she had to meet him then! Weeks passed… Wes decided to call and make his first move. Not expecting a call, Megan’s heart raced when he called for the first time. They hit it off from the first minute.. like old friends. They could talk about anything and everything. They were comfortable with each other and everything felt SO right. They recalled lovingly : )

Wes has no fear apparently, when he decided it was time to propose. It was Friday the 13th and it was their usual date night, on the couch watching 20/20. He joked that they should just elope and get married. Megan said OK! Let’s go. Without wasting a moment, he pulled out a ring, on his knees proposing for real. Megan said yes {again}! Surprised, smittened, excited all rolled into 1. Love how she looks at Wes….

They enjoy the simple things in life. Together, they are at ease doing every day things like watching tv and playing with their dogs. So, they decided to document their engagement at Buck’s Place in Leatherwood- a property belonging to Wes’ uncle. It was THE perfect setting for them. Totally quiet, natural, and a place they can go to enjoy each other’s company.

The property had everything!  A field, a tree, a pond, a dirt path, a boat! What could be more perfect?!

Have I mentioned how awesome this is? I can shoot here all day : ) Megan and Wes were brave enough to climb into the restored wooden boat for a few quick snaps.

To view more images of the lovely couple, please click HERE for their SLIDESHOW.

Exactly a month from now, they will be Mr & Mrs.! I can’t wait for their romantic outdoor/ barn wedding : )

See you then : )

p.s. Yummy FILM images to come…

SPECIAL THANKS to Jemma Gayheart for Megan’s ‘girl-next-door’ makeover. Megan, you were gorgeous!!
