Before & After

To do or not to do? I always suggest TO DO. Professional makeup application of course. Anytime I do a shoot, whether it’s a bride, a senior or a family portrait session, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of a ‘done’ look. Not only does the process makes you feel good.. feel beautiful, it MAKES the whole session complete! Even better than that, an awesome look for dinner with your other half following your session! Here,Kayla is brave enough to let me use her BEFORE photo to demonstrate the WHYs of a professional makeup application. The behind the scenes Makeup Artist is non other than Jemma Domenica Gayheart. She is amazing!!

Kayla is naturally beautiful anyway.. gorgeous blue/ green eyes, perfectly arched brows, high cheek bones and lips of an angel. With precise application of the eyes, flirty lashes, some contouring and soft supple lips, Jemma created a sweet and sexy look that is vava voom! Kayla is about 35 weeks pregnant here and looking oh so hot! Pss….She’s dressed in her husband’s plain white T ; )

Pic right: AFTER

So, if this is not enough to convince you of your NEXT gorgeous session and have your makeup PROFESSIONALLY done, I’ll be doing more BEFORE & AFTERs : ) Happy day!

p.s. Yes, HAIR too!

Engagement: Kendra + David { Snow day }

It was cold. A day after a major snowfall. This particular Monday was unlike any other. The 6-8″ of snow the day before was quickly melting away. Not that we were complaining but Kendra & David had waited for this BIG day for a long time. A BIG snowfall day for some fun engagement pictures! Funny enough it all started when they ‘met’ at the frozen food aisle at WalMart, just 2 years ago. Kendra, a lady with poise and charm actually made the ‘first’ move when she said HI. David didn’t say much but decided to take a chance on Kendra at the check out line. He critiqued her food choices and vice versa.. making small talk but really flirting. That was all it took. Some groceries and a little bit of courage. They have been together ever since… buying groceries and making life plans together..

Our SNOW engagement session began at the HOME PLACE PARK. It was spontaneous to say the least but it was: Beautiful. Peaceful. Simple.

Kendra~ You are simply gorgeous! David is one (VERY) lucky man : )

They smile all the time.. at each other. It wasn’t difficult to see their beautiful love : )

Captain Creighton

UPDATE: Creighton’s Party was recently FEATURED in GreyLikesBaby.com BLOG. yayy!! THANKS so much GreyLikesBaby!!

Blue skies, puffy clouds and a little bit of snow flurries… all ingredients for an eventful BIRTHday celebration. Creighton just turned ONE and he’s already making his mark as ‘CAPTAIN’. With wings, an aviator hat, and passport he’s ready for his first flight.

I searched high and low for vintage glass milk bottles but everyone is sold out. So, determined to find an alternative I came across the drink ‘YOOHOO’. At $ 2.99 for 4 drinks, I was able to recycle the bottles at next to nothing and achieve the same look. PLUS saving a lot of $$.

Special THANKS to Kitty Castle for the PERFECT cakes and cupcakes. They were a HIT!

FUNNEST Favors- bubbles & balloons animals

Creighton’s SMASH cake complete with puffy clouds and airplanes.

Sign in guest book… (almost) last minute idea.

Clouds? Why not! Made with felt type fabric and hand stitched. Catherine did 99% of the sewing : )

Big thanks to Alois for the cutest bowtie : )
