The day was shaping out so well. Slightly sunny, slightly warm. Jessica and Brandon have waited for this day since 2007. You can feeeeel the anticipation building. I felt a slow hustle (if there’s such a thing) but everyone from the bridal party to the family was enjoying a day that will be filled with fun, memorable moments. The celebration was held in the backyard of Jessica’s Aunt Kathy’s lovely home. Everything from the tent, tables, chairs, linens, and flowers were finally in place. The food and drinks are being prepped to host 150 or so of their closest family and friends. All they really need is a nice clear afternoon…
I Love Jessica’s hand tied bouquet of cream white and pale green roses, pale green mini hydrangeas, and delicate cymbidium orchids.
An afternoon of pampering.. Jessica was so calm and collected. Here, she wore her Mom’s wedding headband. Something borrowed? Just lovely : )

Something old- a hanky from her Grandmother and another something borrowed/ new- a pair of diamond earrings belonging to her Aunt Kathy.
While the girls were getting ready upstairs, the guys are having a good ol’ time getting suited up for the big event.
It’s time. I’m so happy that Jessica and Brandon decided to do a FIRST LOOK. They originally talked about the traditional way and seeing each other only at the ceremony but quickly changed their mind. They wanted to enjoy the reception with their close family and friends and not spend hours taking pictures after the ceremony. Weather was also a concern because you never know about Kentucky weather. It might rain one day and not the next. So, we made plans to do all the picture taking before the ceremony and it worked out so well. Just as soon as we finished, the rain came pouring! Talk about luck!

No worries.. even if the rain delayed the ceremony for 2 hours. Jessica & Brandon decided to wait out the rain and have their dream OUTDOOR ceremony.
I have to say the rain really saved us. The sun was low, the light was amazing and the air was just slightly cooler. Prefect day after all : )

So much is out there for today’s NEW bride. From blogs to magazine websites, there are tons of resources to make your wedding uniquely you and oh so fabulous! One blog I frequent is 100 Layer Cake. Even the name oozes ‘uniqueness’ and I have to drop by and visit EVERY day! Today, they are launching their POP-UP SHOP 100 LAYER CAKE. Oh.. how I LOVE bridal shoots!! They are so much fun and my brides to be are always so beautiful! It’s a day to be pretty; to try out the ‘wedding day’ look(s) but mainly to have beautiful, memorable portraits. These sessions are much more relaxing (and FUN) because we allow plenty more time to PLAY, POSE, and be PRETTY. Whit is no exception. She knew from day ONE she was going to have a BRIDAL shoot. She couldn’t wait to get into her gorgeous JUDD WADDELL gown and this day was special.. just for her : )
Whit’s had an extra special experience when searching for THE perfect gown. If you have watched ‘Say Yes to the Dress’, Atlanta edition you’d know the awesome store BRIDALS by Lori. Whit had the ultimate experience just being there and loved every minute of it. She tried on several dresses, were treated like a princess, and finally fell in love with this seemingly very simple trumpet style silk gown. Luckily for her, THE designer JUDD WADDELL was there to lend a hand. She wasn’t totally sold on the dress UNTIL he suggested just a little something something…. a jeweled embellished belt to tie it all together. THAT was it. Whit began to feel all tingly inside and said YES to the DRESS!!
Heather at Expressions made us a SWEET-HEART bouquet especially for our BRIDAL SHOOT. Love the colors : ) Thanks so much!!
What an experience to photograph at some of the loveliest homes at STONE CREST Golf course. Here, we couldn’t believe how breathtaking the views were from this backyard.
