Young, attractive, and in love… just a few words to describe Amanda and Patrick. They met when they were just 15 and knew they were meant to be with one another. Amanda says she ‘knew’ when she realized he was going to be a good MAN- responsible, mature, serious… the list goes on. But, she was surprised when he had flowers everywhere in their hotel room in December of 2009 and he came around the corner with a bouquet of flowers and something extra. A token of his love. A box containing his promise to cherish and honor her forever. And then he uttered the words of WHY he wanted to marry her… it was history as they say it…
The day had been long for Patrick. Having to work in the coal mines the night before, he was exhausted but eager to marry – his girl, Amanda. While he took a few hours of shut eye, Amanda was getting ready. Hair, makeup… the works!
A classic hand tied bouquet with pale pink/ yellow English roses and delicate pale pink Akita roses.
Hair pampering at Karma and Spa. Amanda is going for style and grace.
The final do by Sheena.
She radiates as soon as she puts her gown on.
Her FIRST LOOK at herself all dressed. She suddenly feels a little nervous..
The groom’s little brother Conner… oh so handsome!
The ceremony site… after months of hard work and long late night hours, Michelle (Mother of the bride) finally gets to enjoy her ‘fruits of her labor’.
Vision: Simple elegance with a touch of romance.
Amanda beaming..
A walk outside to have a few moments together : )
Amanda is so happy… to finally be Mrs Patrick Bailey!
How gorgeous is this couple?
The reception site… all ready the night before! It’s makes it so much easier for the the family and me : )
When Amanda told me (months ago) her theme colors would be pink and brown and there will be cherry blossoms…. my heart skipped a beat! I knew it would gorgeous!
Another awesome cake creation by Teresa Caudill. A four tier masterpiece with layers of yumminess- spicy carrot cake, strawberry, wedding white, and white almond sour cream.
The groom deer hunts and thus his cake…
The happy couple : )

Thank You ( Christine & Kat ) for the beautiful photos !! This was such a special time for our daughter and new son-in-law.. So blessed to have had you to capture this moment in our lives..
Let the FALL wedding season begin! After a busy summer wedding and portrait season, I was ready for fall and cooler weather. Â Fall is so different- light, the air, the atmosphere and most definitely the couples. Amanda and Patrick, in particular is a young couple IN LOVE and couldn’t wait to start their lives together as husband and wife. But, more about them later : )
This day started off calm. As I prepare to load my car up with bags of gear and a mind full of ideas, I look upon my watch to make sure I had plenty of time to get to my first location- the hair salon (KARMA & Spa). I had Cat on the back of my mind, getting her out of school early, getting to the church.. the list went on and on. And she, TODAY would be my Assistant- Second Shooter. Yes, my 8 year daughter is going to shoot me, shooting the wedding. At least that was the plan. Yes, she took some behind the scenes shots of my distorted one-eye open face and whatever she loves to shoot in between- wedding related of course! But, she quickly switched gears to SHOOT the wedding! I know, there’s only so many ‘looks’ of me bending, squating, pointing (directing), etc…. so naturally she found other things to amuse herself. A few times, she put the camera down (She used my D300, set to Aperture, and f1.8) to chase a couple of cats, played with a long branch/ twig she found near the railway tracks and ate strawberries off the fondue table! I won’t complain… at least she was out of my shot view. That’s another blog post altogether. So, check back soon for Behind the Scenes with Cat!
I end this sneak peek post with HER shot. Her angle. Timeless I must say. So Grace Kelly.
